Description:
ColoMARK is an EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie project focused on identifying invasive biomarkers for colorectal cancer (CRC) through liquid biopsy. The PhD project at GenomeScan explores cell-free RNA (cfRNA) and tumor-derived RNA to enhance CRC detection and subtype classification. The project involves the development of a machine learning-based tools, designed to classify Consensus Molecular Subtypes (CMS) utilizing transcriptomic data obtained from plasma and tumor samples. This approach helps identify biomarkers and improving our understanding of CRC’s molecular diversity. GenomeScan supports the project with advanced sequencing technologies and bioinformatics resources. The project runs from summer 2023 to summer 2026, contributes to advancing early and non-invasive CRC diagnostics.
